This story brings back memories of how local folks would bend over backward to protect the players. And, what was most surprising, it didn't matter if they players on a losing, low-level team. The school, alums, and local powers-that-be would swing into action to get chargers dismised or reduced.
I'd say these guys are prime material to play for the Oakland Raiders.
