When Life Imitates the Onion

2005 Oscar Awards features self-referential and self-absorbed ad showing M. Night Shyamalan being self-rereferential and self absorbed: American Express My Life, My Card . Are we seeing people with dead careers, but they don't know it?

A very strange add. I read a joke stating that in that TV spot for Amex M. Night Shyamalan had finally come up with something that was more disappointing than the ending of his movie 'The Village.'

I enjoyed "The Village" and "Sixth Sense," but I would've enjoyed them even better as a 60 minutes "Outer Limit" episode, or one of the old Twilight Zones, which, despite the hype, is what his movies really are .
